Treble Choir

Chamber Singers Performing

Chamber Singers is an auditioned choir and the showcase touring ensemble for choral music at Foxborough High School. The ensemble meets daily during the period 1 music block, with students receiving full academic credit for participation.

Every day in rehearsal, the Chamber Singers work together to improve their individual singing technique, hone ensemble skills, learn advanced sight-singing and music theory concepts, and perform choral repertoire of the highest quality. 2011-2012 selections include works by Mendelssohn, Handel, Bach, Copland, Gershwin, Praetorius, and William Byrd that represent some of the most important choral music written from Renaissance to present day.

Musicians accepted into Chamber Choir are comfortable singing alone or in a group, have considerable experience reading music, and are accepted via audition in the spring of the preceding school year. After school sectionals as well as home practice are vital to the Chamber Singers curriculum. 2011-2012 performances include the Holiday Concert, Winterfest Concert, Spring Concert, MICCA adjudication, Williamsburg tour, Pops Concert, and Spring Chamber Concert, as well as frequent Combined Choir performances with the FHS Concert Choir. Chamber Singers are eligible to audition for A Cappella Choir and Jazz Choir.
